No Impact Man
I found an interesting article here about NoImpactMan, or Mr. Beavan, who I first saw on Goodmorning America. His reception on the program was snickering, when he was describing his lifestyle. Mr. Beavan and his family are currently trying to live one year in Manhattan leaving as light an environmental impact as possible.
This involved composting his own poop, no toilet paper, and lots of bicycle riding as you can imagine. Some will think he’s a nut. Others will be inspired by his message of personal sacrifice and his challenging of societal norms. I haven’t decided myself yet, but maybe some of this can be useful to normal New Yorkers. The blog recording his one-year experiment is here.
